Ticino is since 1803 Member of the Swiss Confederation and is located in the southern part of it, at the border with Italy. For its southern climate, Ticino is also known also the "sunny part of Switzerland".

The variety in its landscape, from Alpine scenarios with romantic little lakes to rivers with a touch of southern influence, make Ticino a great place to fly fish.

There are no "fly fishing only" zones, but Ticino has an abundance of rivers and alpine lakes. Through the Ticino Canton, hundreds of Km of rivers are nicely disposed together with over 70 alpine lakes, that can be enjoyed with only one fishing permit.
